Texting a quick note to your sweetie is a great way to let them know you’re thinking about them throughout the day.

But how about sexting? Sending an enticing photo or some seductive words can spice up a senior relationship.

Sexting is not just for kids. Seniors are more tech-savvy than ever before. AARP found texting is a preferred means of communication among older adults. Eighty-six percent of Americans over 50 communicate regularly via text messaging, and those in the 50-69 age group use texting more than email. Recent studies show seniors in their sixties are more likely to manage their medical care on smartphones and tablets. With the same devices, you can use texts as an efficient way of communication and sexts as a form of foreplay.

Setting up a flirty lunch date, a sexy date night, or sending a suggestive smooch-session request can all be done with just the flick of your fingers. Sexting doesn’t have to mean sharing your ‘full monty’ on your cell phone. Start slow. Send a titillating sext and tell your partner what you want to do to them when they get home. From drinking a sloppy milkshake together sipping from the same straw to an X-rated suggestion for what you want to do between the sheets, red hot sexts will get your honey’s attention.

Relationship coach Suzanne Blake told AARP, “It’s a misnomer that the biological changes of aging have to lead to a decrease in sexuality and sexual experience. Boomers want sexual activity. They want to flirt. It makes them feel lively and young.”

When sexting, remember to delete any racy photos and texts after they are sent or received. Should your phone be lost or stolen, these scandalous photos can be viewed and shared with others. Plus, you don’t want your grandkids to see them! They may already think “Grandma’s still got it,” but you don’t want a tantalizing sext to leave you red-faced from embarrassment rather than passion.

Let sexting alleviate your carnal fears and inhibitions, and boldly sext someone a naughty secret today. Let your fingers do the walking, but then delete, delete, delete…
